Write, Share and Connect
Do you enjoy writing—or have you always wanted to give it a try?
Do you enjoy writing—or have you always wanted to give it a try?

The Moy-Yan Writers Club offers a relaxed and welcoming space for anyone who enjoys stories, poetry, memoir, journaling or exploring creative ideas.

Whether you write regularly, have an unfinished project tucked away in a drawer or are staring at your first blank page, you will be very welcome.
About the Writers Club
The Writers Club brings local people together to write, share ideas and encourage one another in a friendly and supportive environment.

There is no pressure to write in a particular style or share your work before you feel ready. You can work quietly on your own project, take part in group activities or simply listen and learn from the experiences of other writers.

The group is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced writers. Everyone brings something different, and that variety helps make the club interesting, inspiring and enjoyable.
What Can You Write?
Members are welcome to explore many different forms of writing, including:

  • Short stories and longer fiction
  • Poetry
  • Memoir and family history
  • Journaling and personal reflection
  • Life stories and local history
  • Articles and community stories
  • Scripts and creative dialogue
  • Letters, blogs and other personal projects
  • New ideas developed from writing prompts

You are also welcome to bring along an existing project and use the time to continue working on it.
What to Expect
Writers Club gatherings may include:

  • Quiet time to work on your own writing
  • Optional writing prompts and creative exercises
  • Sharing stories, poems and ideas
  • Friendly discussion and encouragement
  • Opportunities to receive constructive feedback
  • Tips for developing characters, settings and story ideas
  • Conversations about writing habits and overcoming writer’s block
  • Plenty of tea, coffee and friendly company

Participation is always encouraged but never forced. You decide what you would like to write and whether you wish to share it with the group.
Who can Join?
Everyone is welcome—from those writing their very first paragraph to people with years of experience.

You do not need any formal writing qualifications or a finished project. All you need is an interest in words, stories or creative ideas.

The club values kindness, respect and encouragement, creating a space where members can feel comfortable developing their own voice.
