About
Our Story & Mission

From a small local initiative to a vibrant community hub in Garfield, our story is about people coming together to learn, connect, and support one another.

How we began
Moy-Yan Neighbourhood House started with a simple idea: create a safe, friendly place where locals could make friends, learn a hobby, and find support when they need it. Over the years, volunteers, tutors, and partners have helped us grow - while keeping the same warm, down-to-earth spirit.

Growing together
Today, we run weekly art and sewing groups, digital device tutoring for all ages, and the empowering Weld Like Girl workshops. With our Food Relief and Community Pantry, we’re here for anyone doing it tough. Two welcoming venues - the Pool Building and our new location at the ADRA Building, 57 Main Street, Garfield - help us reach more people, more often.

What guides us
Everything we do promotes health, empowerment, resilience, inclusivity, and social connection. That’s the Moy-Yan way - neighbours helping neighbours.
