Hands-on, confidence-building welding workshops just for women. Learn the basics safely, meet great people, and take home a small metal project you make yourself.

Who It’s For & Safety

Who can join: Women and girls aged 15+ (under 18s attend with a parent/guardian). We welcome complete beginners.

Safety first: You’ll work under close supervision with clear demonstrations and step-by-step practice. We provide helmets, gloves, and PPE, maintain safe distances, and keep class sizes small to give you time and support.

  • Qualified facilitators and spotters
  • Mandatory PPE and safety briefing
  • Clearly marked work areas and tidy benches

What You’ll Do
Dates, Times & Venue

Workshops run in short blocks across the year.

Sessions are typically 2–3 hours, evenings or daytime. Places are limited.

Venue: Primarily at 57 Main Street, Garfield.

What to Wear & Bring
  • Wear long cotton pants and a long-sleeve cotton shirt (no synthetics).
  • Enclosed leather shoes or steel-caps.
  • Hair tied back; no dangling jewellery.
  • We supply helmets, gloves, and PPE. Bring a water bottle.

We’ll brief you on housekeeping and workshop etiquette before we start.

Fees & Support

We keep fees affordable thanks to community support. Concession options may be available.

  • Fee per session or per short block (confirm current rate when booking)
  • All materials and PPE included for beginner projects
  • Funding assistance may be available—ask us in confidence
